Laura Harvey

As a mixed media artist, I create intricately layered collages on a variety of substrates: from canvas and traditional birch panels to hollow-core doors. To intuitively bring each piece to life, I draw from a rich, unique (and ever-growing) collection of media and ephemera, building layers using acrylic paint and mediums, papers (found, purchased and hand painted), recycled fabrics and vintage photos. I derive a storyteller's satisfaction as each piece evolves during the creative process - from the initial blur of an idea to a completed visual.
